The best way to record Over the air HD

HDHomeRun - Dual Tuner from SiliconDust - Click Here

We are all trying to cut back on our cable bills and one great way is to switch to HD channels broadcast over the air. You can go the traditional way and buy a TV tuner card you need to install in your PC or a USB tuner but there is a better way.

You need a HDHomeRun device which retails for about $129 at Amazon - Click here

Traditionally you could only record TV on the PC which had the capture card installed. The HDHomeRun is network based and any PC which has Windows Media Center can record any show since they all share the network tuner.

Here is the quickest way to get started.

- Purchase the HDHomeRun HD Dual-Tuner
- When it arrives write down its MAC address
- Access your normal Router 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1
- Locate the section where you can perform DHCP Reservations
- Enter the IP address and MAC address your would like the HDHomeRun to have
- Now place the HDHomeRun in a location of your choosing
- Connect both cables from your HD antenna to the HDHomeRun
- Connect Power to the unit
- Go to your Windows Media Center PC
- Open Internet Explorer and enter the IP address you reserved earliere
- You will see a webpage for the HDHomeRun where you can install the drivers
- Follow the instructions on the page to configure Media Center
- That was it, now lable your HDHomeRun with its IP and MAC address

Note. Any PC with Windows Media Center who needs to record from the HDHomeRun needs the drivers installed. Simply Open Internet Explorer and type in the IP address for the HDHomeRun as described above and you are off to a good start ...

Enjoy HD over the air... Do more with less.
